Waterworks
Our City boasts a great water system fed by two existing wells. A third water well is under construction and is expected to be completed by mid-summer 2010. The new well is expected to produce between 1,200 and 1,500 gallons a minute and is being funded through the States Capital Outlay Program. The second phase of this project will be the construction of a 500,000 gallon elevated water tower that will add to the City’s existing 800,000 gallons of stored water.
Our water system has helped enabled us, to maintain a Class 3 fire rating which reflects reduced homeowners insurance rates for our residents.
Routine testing and monitoring as required by DHH and EPA assure us and our residents that our water is safe and meets all applicable standards.
